Charles James Scott

Charles James Scott was born in Bessemer, Alabama on June 12, 1929, to Louise Scott Anderson. He grew up in Alabama but eventually relocated to Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Charles was blessed to meet and marry Mattie Rose Milliner, of Aliquippa, on March 5, 1956. Brother Scott came to know the Lord in 1960, at the First Church of God In Christ, Aliquippa. Having proved himself faithful, he was appointed deacon. Deacon Scott answered the call to ministry and was ordained an Elder in 1977. In May, 1990, Reverend Scott was appointed Pastor of Prayer Chapel Church of God In Christ, New Castle Pennsylvania, by Bishop Melvin E. Clark, Presiding Prelate of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Western Pennsylvania Church of God In Christ. Pastor Scott served his charge faithfully with his wife Mother Mattie Rose Scott until he went home to be with the Lord March 15, 1998.

Mattie Rose Scott

Mattie Rose Scott was born in Americus, Georgia, on February 9, 1934 to the late Trustee John and Mother Charlie Mae Milliner of Aliquippa, PA. Shepherdess Mattie Rose Scott, affectionately known as the “The Rose of New Castle” when she and Reverend Charles Scott were appointed leaders over Prayer Chapel. However, prior to her assignment she sat under the teachings, of then, Elder Melvin E. Clark. The depth of instruction of the Word of God made an indelible impression on her life she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and acknowledged her call to ministry.
She was elevated as Director of Jubilee Kitchen, at the Church In The Round, Aliquippa PA, where she fed hundreds of people in the Michael Baker Jr. Fellowship Hall. In 1998, Mother Mattie Rose Scott was elevated to the role of Shepardess of Prayer Chapel Church, when the Lord called Reverend Scott home to be with him. Shepardess Scott remained faithful to this charge until she finished her course on March 8, 2012.
